After securing $10M in Series A funding, rapidly growing alternative lodging service WhyHotel needed to take a critical next step in its expansion: hiring its first Chief Marketing Officer. Founded and managed by a team of world-class real estate operators, CEO Jason Fudin explains why finding a CMO was their first big hiring initiative that felt outside their comfort zone.
“We’ve used recruiters for more junior roles, but not for bringing in C-suite talent. We knew our first Chief Marketing Officer would not come directly from the world of Real Estate. We wanted to bring on a digital CMO to help scale our business and it was really important that we got the right person, so we needed help.”
